The Nonsuch sailboat class was named after the Nonsuch (ship), the first trading vessel of Hudson's Bay Company, which in turn was named after the Baroness Nonsuch (Barbara Palmer), a mistress of King Charles the Second.

All Nonsuch boats share the same characteristics of roomy interiors that are comparable to sailboats many size larger; easy to handle rig, and comfortable motion.  Nonsuch boats were built by Hinterhoeller Yachts from 1978 till the mid 1990's.  Over 975 Nonsuch boats were built during the period.  Today, Nonsuch boats enjoy a truly dedicated and loyal following.

The Nonsuch 324 is a 30 hull with a much different interior than the 30C or 30U, a shallower draft keel, & carbon spars. 324s were built for a very short time in the mid 1990's. They have a higher aspect ratio (taller) carbon fiber rig, mast/wishbone, 22% more sail area (689 sq ft) than the 30s (540 Sq ft) and even more than the 33s (669 sq ft), a shallower draft 'winged' keel, and no teak on deck.
