The Danish yard Nordship Yachts Aps started in 1978 under the name of Buchwald Yachtvaerft Aps. The yard’s founder, Lars Buchwald, started his career as a joinery subcontractor for a number of well-known Danish yacht manufacturers. Over the years, the work expanded to include prototype development and construction of round-the-world sailing yachts.

Lars Buchwald is the brains and artist behind the Nordship line of yachts.  His expertise can be seen in the new Nordship deck-saloon sailing cruisers, where the use of multi-deck interior creates the feel of spaciousness that is commonly found in powerboats.

The Nordship 40 was first introduced to the public in January 2006 at the Dusseldorf Show in Germany.   It was designed for speed and for easy single-handling.   Some clever interior design makes the Nordship 40 feel like an apartment home for extended living.  The Nordship line of sailing yachts include the Nordship 35, Nordship 38, Nordship 40, and the Nordship 43.
