The Selene 59 is built in China by Jet Tern marine, who is currently China's largest yacht builder.  Jet Tern specializes in building heavy-displacement, ocean-cruising power boats - which are usually termed "trawler yachts".  The company has a repertoire of 11 models ranging from 36 feet to 66 feet.    The Selene 59 has all the amenities of the bigger model Selene 66 without the crew's quarters.
Classically styled, the Selene 59 offers all the amenities and comforts of home.  The main saloon and the galley are richly finished in teak, providing for a warm and homey feel.  Its heavy displacement provides the feel and the stability of a small ship, translating to comfort during ocean passages.
One nice feature of the Selene 59 is an outdoor barbecue on the flybridge area, complete with sink and refridgerator.
Fuel consumption is calculated at 15.1 gallon per hour at 9 knots cruising speed.  This  is dramatically lowered to 5.5 gallon per hour when cruising at 8 knots.
