<

The jewel in Vietnam's crown, Halong Bay has been designated by UNESCO as a world heritage site for its geological and geomorphological value.  Breathtakingly beautiful, it has over 1,600 limestone islands standing tall and majestic in various sizes and shapes.  Ha Long means "descending dragon".  The bay is deeply entrenched in Vietnam's history, legends, mythology, and  folklore.

Located 165 km east of Hanoi, Vietnam's capital,
from E106°56' to E107°37' and from N20°43' to N21°09'. it has a 120 kilometre long coastline and is approximately 1,553 square kilometres in size.

In the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies, James and Wai Lin attempt to chase down Elliot Carver played by Jonathan Pryce in the Ha Long Bay area.

IndoChina Sails operate a fleet of junk sailboats that explore Ha Long Bay.
