Singapore is an island state located at the south end of the Malay peninsula.   With a total area of 704 square kilometers, it is the smallest country in Southeast Asia and also the smallest island-state country in the world.   Singapore consists of 63 islands including the Mainland Singapore.  The 4 big islands are Jurong Island, Pulau Tekong, Pulau Ubin and Sentosa.

Connected by two land bridges to Malaysia,  Singapore is easily accessible by plane or by road.  It is a popular cruising destination for two main reasons:  security is good and the place is very orderly.  Secondly, English is an official language which makes communication easier.

Singapore has several first class marinas; Raffles Marina on the west coast, Republic of Singapore Yacht Club on the south coast and Pongol, Loyang and Changi Sailing Club in the east.
