Up the Mast on the Bosun Chair
1 CommentWhen you’re out sailing, sooner or later, there comes the time when a halyard gets stuck up in the mast, or something up the mast needs repairing, and someone has to go up. Unless you’re a monkey and can get up the mast barefooted, chances are you will need a bosun chair, and some one will need to hoist you up and down.
As you can imagine, a heavy person will require a lot of pull, so the lightest person is the best candidate. Here in this video, a Delicate Balance crew member was volunteered to go up the mast. Great bosun chair training for the next Vic Maui 2012 race.

Imagine going up the mast on a bosun chair when the boat is rocking. Ain’t no fun. But this one looks like fun!
Won’t be fun for a heavy weight man to go up the mast.
